Johnny5 wrote:Did you know that in Manager SE, if you go to the history screen, and open a historical invoice, then select File (at the top left), then Email, the software will examine that customer, if there is an email address on file, the Invoice from History will be packaged up into a PDF file and sent to your email client to ultimately send to the customer? If there is no email address, the system will prompt you for an email address, use that, send the email, and save the email to the customer record.
I just picked up on an important part of this. This action fills in the email address you used into the management system field for email. This 'backfill' if you will occurs when emailing an active document such as an Estimate, RO or Invoice as well as history documents. VERY NICE!

We are running Manager SE 6.5.57
Are we suppose to update with this? Or is it for those with other problems of software etc...

I thought Manager SE updated itself when needed?

Yes, the SE version has an Auto Updater function. However, as recent forum posts here will show, we simply cannot update everyone at once. We have a forthcoming update which will be metered out to shops in groups and the SE support page is offered to anyone who is experiencing a specific technical issue or that simply wants to get updated sooner than later.

6.6.9 (A.K.A. the Ric update ) primarily addressed a few minor issues found in 6.6.8. If you have 6.6.8, mostly likely you will not need to update. However, if you're still in the 6.5.x builds, I think most users would recommend the change for the added features.

I Noticed Today That Manager Update 6..69 Is Now Available For Update. Has Anyone Updated To See What Difference Between 6.69 & 6.68?
Should I Update As I'm Still Running 6.5.57?
Thanks

I am running 6.6.9. Not much difference between 6.6.8 and 6.6.9 other than a few minor flaws corrected. Big difference between your version and 6.6.9.

When things calm down a little, we will update the "What's New in This Release" section of the SE home splash page.

I have 6.6.9 and I can transfer a revision to an Estimate and it stays an Estimate.

You have to have at least one line on the est on mine 6.6.10. I start all estimates with a courtesy inspection line. I forget to do that and transfer a rev to a blank est screen it turns into an RO.

I know I might be beating a dead horse, but can we beg & plead to keep the estimate from turning into an RO when we transfer parts from a revision? :?: :?:

We are booked out over two weeks & those of us with OCD &/or the ones that have to file the slips later hate having to dig back in the pile to file a work order number that is 100 back.

We order the parts when the customer books the appointment to make sure they are on hand when the time comes....but if it's a week or two before the appointment and it was transferred over from a revision & then automatically is assigned an invoice number - it it way out of sequence. I have been very careful to cut & paste so this is not a problem, but I can't get the other gremlin (i.e. my husband) from just transferring them over......... :? :? :?

rhillig,

Just a couple things to throw out there regarding this. Remember if you have any line items on the Estimate first, it won't autoconvert. You might consider a quick CJ that you get in the habit of using to add some notes or whatnot. Also, the good news is in 7.0 the comments you add when creating an appointment will transfer to the order by default, creating a note. This little change to the workflow should be enough to keep your estimates as estimates.

Hmmm, if I could only get the gremlin to do that....................

I think with the new scheduler, he'll find it easier to adjust the workflow.

Hopefully.
