Honda Passport - 3.2L PCV Valve Install?

Post by slowtech »

Has anyone had trouble getting a new pcv valve & grommet to fit in a Honda Passport 3.2 eng. We keep tearing the grommet. Dealer says these are very tight fit. Grommet shrinks to 1/4" from 1/2" when installed. pcv is 1/2". If you have a trick for these I could try it would be great help. I'm stumped. Thanks, Tom.

got my interest on this one. years ago on some applications we would soak certain parts that were being installed into tight spaces in cold water to shrink them. get your mind out of the gutter tina...............

Got the right idea Steven, but the opposite works for this one. Making the rubber grommet colder only makes it harder - which causes it to tear easier. Try warming it up with a heat gun to make it more pliable, or lubing it up with some BG MOA. Let me know it this helps.
