So we understand correctly, the power locks engage automatically when the vehicle starts moving? And should unlock when shut off but don't? Then when you try to unlock them with the switch they don't unlock right away? How long of a delay?

Here is an excerpt from a later model Pathfinder that I found. Might help.

AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS
A ll doors will lock automatically when the vehicle speed reaches 15 MPH (24 km/h).
A ll doors will unlock automatically when the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position.
The automatic lock and unlock functions can be deactivated or activated independently
of each other. To deactivate or activate the automatic door lock or unlock system, perform the
following procedure:
1. Close all doors.
2. Place the ignition switch in the ON position.
3. Do one of the following within 20 seconds of performing Step #2:
• To change AUTO UNLOCK settings: push and hold the power door lock switch to the
(UN LOCK ) position for more than 5 seconds.
• To change AUTO LOCK settings: push and hold the power door lock switch to
the (LOCK ) position for more than 5 seconds.
4. When activated, the hazard indicator will flash twice. When deactivated, the hazard
indicator will flash once.
5. The ignition switch must be placed in the OFF and ON position again between each
setting change.

Additionally, these systems are kinda cool. Each switch has it's own microprocessor and communicates with the BCM via a serial link. Do you have a tool that cam communicate with the BCM? That'll help tremendously. I just replaced one of the Smart Entrance Controllers on a Nissan today.

a little tip here. when i replace drivers door switches i completely inspect them for the reason why. coffee, water, soda, etc. a 2007 with a failed switch could be a huge issue two or three years later when it fails again. i have a fleet of trucks that constantly have failures in the switches and wiring on the doors, especially the passenger side. why, because that's the side the shoveler sits on when the truck is plowing and the salt on his rain coat or jacket drips into the door panel when the snow melts. i have a few of these in my customer base and have found that if the kids are allowed to play with the main switch making the windows go up and down and leaving the parents alone funny things can happen. i had a lincoln towed in a few years ago as a no start. kids were playing with the switches and keyless entry. the car was constantly being use by the kids as a playground. for some reason that i haven't found an answer for the entry code got changed. found this out with my star tester. maybe the battery was wearing down and a glitch was caused. gave up on trying to figure it out. yes, the key was in the on position when the kids were playing in the car.
