sounds like an egr valve to me. usually it will cause a stall but with this kind of mileage the port may be partially restricted. i've also had them run like this and be resolved by an injection cleaning and the plenum washed out.

Yea, I'd agree with steve, I'd be looking at the egr valve. I had one not so long ago that was badly restricted.

Dont forget to preform a cylinder leakdown test. I have an aveo in the shop now with the same symptoms and have 60+% leakdown on all cylinders through the exhaust valves. hth. Jerry
