Ok. I had to put this thing on the back burner for awhile. But now the engine is out. There are only four bolts that actually hold the transmission to the engine. Three of the four threads in the block are fine. The fourth has a broken bolt in it for whatever reason. So, that needs to come out. The flexplate is broken the whole way around. The plate bolted to the back of the block was loose and needs to be replaced. The torque converter appears to be ok. I do want the customer to stop in and have a look so he can see exactly what I am seeing. The dowel pins are slightly loose but I am hoping they will be ok. There is a few other bolts and threads that I need to look at as I install the engine and trans back in the vehicle.

Am hoping for the best on this one.

I would want to make sure that the dowels are 100%, or replace them. Additionally, if the trans bolts(4) are available, I'd use new from the dealer. JMO.

I suppose you mean using JB weld when the dowel pins are inserted in the block? Right?

Was going over some old threads of mine an saw this one. The irony of this job is that I never saw one red cent out of the job. That was in the days be4 I required payment to let the car off the lot. .................. See the car going around town so I know he is using it.

Lesson learned.
