IM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH A 2006 VW PASSAT 2.0T. I TURN THE CAR ON AND THEN THE AIR CONDITIONER AND IT DOESNT GET COLD EVEN AFTER DRIVING IT AND LETTING IT SIT WITH IGNITION ON FOR AWHILE NOTHING. BUT I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON THEN IT GOT COOL AND IT DOES IT EVERY TIME I TRY IT. SO I CHECKED THE COMPRESSOR AND WHEN I TURN THE A/C OFF THE COMPRESSOR ISNT SHUTTING OFF. IS ANYONE HAVE OR HAVING AN ISSUE LIKE THIS?

THANK YOU

These systems don't use a standard clutch, but a control valve on the compressor and a high pressure switch that converts pressure into a square wave for the controller. Is this an Automatic system. Any codes in the controller? The compressor is engaged all the time on these, if it's the system I think it is. Just had one on an Audi last week.

It won't blow cold if the high pressure switch is not reporting the correct pressure. They are very common to fail. You'd need to view data from the controller. Do you have a scanner that can do that?
