Purchase Order Cost Update
Purchase Order Cost Update
In the "Edit/Receive Parts for Purchase Order" if the item has been received and the cost needs to be corrected pressing the "enter" key for OK does not work to save and update. The only way to save & update is to click on OK. Why? Can this be fixed?

Re: Purchase Order Cost Update
Pressing ENTER to execute 'OK' (same as clicking OK) requires the computer screen focus to be on the OK button at the time. If you've updating the amount in the Current Cost field, the OK button is 7 tab stops away from Current Cost and so is not in focus. [from Current Cost field, press the Tab key until you land on the OK button, I believe that's 7 stops]. When a button has focus there is a marquee border on it; as you tab this helps you see where the focus is at the moment.
In dialog windows where this is a single choice to be made, it's simple to code the ENTER key to equal the OK button to save. This 'Edit/Receive Parts for Purchase Order' window has 8 fields + Inventory button so there is no way to presume that ENTER always equals OK button.

Re: Purchase Order Cost Update
the computer screen focus is set to the ok button and it still does not update the cost if pressing enter. There is a blue border surrounding the key. We can press enter to update the quantity just not the cost.

Re: Purchase Order Cost Update
First, let's confirm we're looking at the same window.
Please note that blue line around the OK button (above) is *not* the focus marquee; look closely at the other OK button (below) that does have the marquee added just inside the blue outline.

Yes that is the screen and what I am talking about. If the OK box in the PO window does not have the focus, why does pressing enter button close the box

Re: Purchase Order Cost Update
Because none of the fields in the window respond to the ENTER key; without the marquee border around OK, it is essentially the same as Cancel. The expected usage is to use Tab key to get to field you want to make change in (cost, received, back ordered, etc.) and then tab to OK where it has focus to THEN press Enter to be same as OK (accepting changes).
