Counter Sale Printing Jumbled?

Post by Rich »

We seldom use "counter tickets". Just did a quick in and out weld job on a snowmobile trailer. The receipt is printed like I am using a DOT matrix printer with a stuck "thingie". Most of the print is missing the top 25% of the line. Any having this issue??

I wish I could help, but we don't use those. Can you duplicate the issue or is this a one-timer?

I have the "print to screen" up on my monitor. It shows the issue already, and the print is messed up.

And being I do more photography than screen shot to PDF to resize to Attachments here is a handy link to photos of the issue. (sorry, i do really need to get into the 2010s)

Rich,

The bottom right corner in little print should be a file name and date. It will probably read something like "CSA Mitchell Repair Information Company, LLC 08.06.11"

Can you read it on yours?

Thanks, the version looks fine here. :?

We've seen some unusual nuances with certain printers. If you would:

Try going into your Printers (Start > Devices and Printers on Windows 7)
Temporarily set your default printer to the XPS Document writer by right clicking and Set as default printer.

Check your print preview again by going to File > Preview, see if it changes anything. If you try to print normally you'll be prompted to name and save the file, which you can also do, but just checking the preview should be sufficient.

It's a printer driver issue then. Some day when you're feeling up to it, poke around the manufacturer's site for an updated driver. Or leave it be, and print to XPS document writer first, then to the printer from there if you don't think it's worth the time.

We have the same thing going on. Even when you print to screen first, it shows it all jumbled and mashed on the screen. Maybe its a Michigan thing?

It may be. i got on line and looked for a driver update and there isnt one. I just run any "counter ticket" as a invoice without any labor. Maybe the 30 days of sub zero weather in February is raising trouble??

Since we updated our system, we too are experiencing jumbled invoices. We print to screen first and even this is jumbled so I don't think it is a printer upgrade driver.

I know this sounds odd, but the print driver IS used in rendering the preview as well. Could you try as noted above and set the printer to XPS Document writer?

File, print set up, counter sale.

Under Select Priner....set it to "Microsoft XPS Document Writer"

This fixed my issue

Hello and Welcome to the Forum.

After reviewing your support recording, it appears you have your Windows DPI set higher than standard. Not all applications will scale perfectly with non-standard DPI (font size) settings. When you have time for a reboot, try changing that to see if it helps.

1. Right click on an open area of the Windows Desktop and go to Screen Resolution.
2. On the new screen that opens, click on the link for Make text and other items larger or smaller.
3. Set it to Medium (125%).

Try the print again after rebooting.
