Order Screen Columns

Post by INLANDSMOG »

After the 6.6.9 update the columns on the order and estimate screens will not remember their positions.

I just tested this and the columns are retained for me. I'm unable to replicate. Any more specifics?

Don't know if this is the issue but on occasion when I open an existing order it's scrambled. Things are shifted all around, boxes are missing, numbers are missing and a few other things. The numerical figures aren't jumbled, they are either there or are missing. The columns are shifted and some of the defined vertical lines are chopped up a bit. I have to click out of that order and back again to get it clean. Another issue I seem to have when this issue is happening is on occasion when I'm in a parts catalogue ordering parts I'll get a message that Manager has stopped working and I need to close out and restart. This has been happening off and on for a few years and I have always felt the issue had to do with one of my other management locations being left open and all sorts of pop ups had taken over. This may be just a fluke and I in no way consider myself a technical type of guy but when I close and back up my other two stations all seems to be OK. I stopped using the others a while ago but on occasion the one in the front office will be used by my son and will be left on and open. When the shop station starts acting up I check that computer and usually find it's on and it takes me a while to shut it down. I'm not a fan of pulling the plug so I just sit there clicking close and I'm sure for ten or fifteen minutes. Hope this helps.

Craig, I am sure you already have done this, but make sure your not using a "default" user name.

OK. I can replicate this. My first attempts didn't involve the part number column. It seems like some columns are unaffected and others aren't.

This is a strange one. Development now has the steps to re-create and work on the fix.

I'm told that this has been fixed in version 6.6.10 which will be ready next week. It will be sent to 6.6.9 shops first.

The link on m1files.com will be updated from 6.6.9 to 6.6.10 about that same time. (instead of any waiting for update to arrive)

Released sooner! Version 6.6.10 is now available at http://www.m1faqs.com/fix/SE/index.htm . Shut down all workstations, Download and run the patch at the host FIRST. You should only then have to open other workstations and they will see the new patch automatically asking you to upgrade that machine. You may in some cases need to run the patch at each workstation manually. This release includes an updated FirstCall Online catalog, Grid preferences and fixes the Posted Orders Report.

I had to shut down all the open programs that interacted with M1 in order to get the update to install (ie; Quickbooks, etc.). Before I shut down all the other programs I kept getting an error.
