Converting Special Order to Repair Order Changes Vehicle

Post by ricmorin »

As everyone knows by now, we use special orders....a lot. We've been having a problem when converting them into repair orders. When we do, the vehicle on the order changes to the first vehicle in the list when customers have more than one vehicle. My service advisor says this has been going on for some time and she usually catches it. I thought I may have posted this before but I can't find it. Anyway, I'm posting it now.

Ric,

Is this consistent, or random?

Looks pretty consistent. The last 3 did it.

Just to make sure I'm going through the same process, you're just using View > Special Order then selecting the customer/vehicle and writing the ticket, right?

In the last case I replicated, I used the traditional work flow process where lines from an existing RO were highlighted first, then SO was selected from the drop-down.

Well, I've had no luck replicating this in about 8 tries. I'll have someone else try.

Bummer. The last 3 we did all changed the vehicle on us. After my SA told me about it, I did a test run and that too changed the vehicle.
