Deleting Recommendations by description

The problem: If you organize recommendations by "Description", and then hit the delete button, it actually deletes a different line item, and not the one you are trying to delete.

Why this is a problem for us: All techs have tablets and use bolt on technology inspections.. And since every vehicle gets an inspection every time, we often end up with multiple recommendations stating the same thing. When we organize the recommendations by descriptions, it bundles the same recs together (to make it easy to delete).. but when you hit delete, it deletes a different line item, and also reverts to a different organization, and no longer by description

Just curious if there is a work around or fix for this..

i notice this too when reorganizing the Recommends by date or description- you pull one up & it is a different one than intended...

I have confirmed this issue, although I've never encountered it before as we never re-sort that list. From the looks of it, the display is re-sorted but not the actual table, resulting in the error.

Definitely needs looking into.

I know this doesn't help with the problem at all, but we have the same situation in using the tablets, inspecting every car, and ending up with multiple recommendations from previous visits. Just curious, would you not want to leave the old recommendations on their file so there is a record of how long you have been bringing this to the customers attention?

The OP stated that they get multiples of the same recommendation based on their workflow. Deleting the duplicates is their goal, not individual recommendations.

Sorry, I took it that he meant that perhaps back in June they inspected the car and recommended a brake fluid flush, which the customer declined. Then they inspected again in September and made the same recommendation that the customer declined again. Another inspection in Feb making the recommendation a third time for the brake fluid flush, which the customer declines again. So now you would have 3 recommendations for a brake fluid flush. Maybe I misunderstood though.

When we do recs... if we are renewing one-- we keep the original date- so that we know when we originally told them to do the rec. We just renew the recommended date--- we do not make a new one... Sometimes we try to organize the recs to see which one was rec. the longest..

Any updates on this issue? Could we see this fixed in the next update possibly?

I have asked for an update; in the meantime change the sort to Need By or Date and it will delete the proper entry.

There is a development story for this - no timeframe on delivery.

Please use the work-around mentioned above until we can fix a date on this.
