We are using version 7.0.11. I am seeing references to 7.0.7. I was wondering when we might expect the updater to update the program.

We are now releasing SE 7.0.18 in batches of 1000 accounts per week, so we've picked up steam. It's impossible to say when a specific account is going to be notified of the update. As an option, you may contact customer service about being specifically placed in the queue now.

You should contact support and make sure that the updater is working properly. IIRC, version 7 was a manual request anyway. Best to give a call.

Ric is right. only way to bump to 7.0 at this time is to call. I believe it is due to making sure your system has the performance to run it.

An additional reason we don't automatically bump 6.6 to version 7 is the scheduler. There are a few use cases within the old schedule we had not envisioned. The good news is those are being addressed in the next update.

We just updated to 7.1.16 with the new spell checker, however spell check only works with lower case. Nothing is underlined and when F2 is pushed message pops up spell check complete. This happens on all work stations. All my invoices, etc. are written in upper case letters.

It's common to ignore words in upper case. Word documents work like this also by default.

I must ask. Is there a reason you put everything in caps?

I'll chime in on the uppercase thing. On the scheduler, we put the "Comments" (old scheduler it was "Notes") in uppercase, and on ROs we put the "Work Requested" in uppercase (usually we copy the "Comments" and paste into the "Work Requested"). The "Comments"/"Work Requested" is what the customer is telling us, that differentiates, what the customer is requesting and our reply(ies) to the request(s), with our replies being lowercase. And yes, in some cases the customer IS yelling at us. (kidding) We've done it this way, since we started using ShopKey back in February of 2003, and it works for us.

Personally, unless I want my typing to be interpreted as yelling, other than the above, I never type in all uppercase.

GOT IT????????? :P

I ALSO HAVE ALL MY INVOICES IN UPPER CASE, NO COMPLAINTS SO FAR. I FIND UPPER CASE EASER TO READ MYSELF.

We have been typing in uppercase in Mitchell since we started with them. Don't know when spell check started but my checking account reveals we have been paying Mitchell since 2001. It worked flawlessly in last version we had. This thread doesn't answer Murri513's question. Does anybody know the answer to his question or if it can be addressed? It would be nice to know if I need to manage this change or simply do what we have been doing for 17 plus years with Mitchell.

The newer version of the spell checker started in v 7.1.6. The spell checker is coded in the program to ignore caps. It would be up to the M1 people if they wanted it changed if there was a large enough call for it.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't want the hassle of having all my acronyms being subject to the spell checker. I don't type in caps, never have - never will. I like it the way it is.

The next version will handle caps, and has an imported list of automotive acronyms.

Thanks for replies. Much appreciated. Invoices are for my customers. Anything to make them happy. Easy to read & understandable is what they tell me. As far as acronyms go, we type it all out. They do not know a TPS from a TPMS or EBTCM to CMP. When we type a code ie p2122. We just add it to the spell check dictionary for future reference. We will endeavor to persevere. Thansk again for replies.
