Plate Decode Not Working For Disabled/Vet Plates?

Post by ajsauto »

The plate to VIN decoder does not seem to work with disabled/veteran plates. It works with custom plates, RV plates, etc but we have never been able to get it to work with these. Anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't experienced this personally, but I would imagine there would be differences from state to state regarding what data is provided by the DMV. I know that some vanity plates don't decode here in NH but I haven't seen a pattern emerge. Perhaps that data is simply not released by Oregon DMV.

Hello,

Depending on your state, try to add either 'DP' as the first characters before the plate number, or 'DP' at both the beginning and end. Omit the quotes.
