Update issue 1ST Mile 64bit

Post by spauto »

I copied this from a different post. Any word whether this has been resolved?

" The only concern with this release (8.0.9) is 1st Mile integration; users with 1st Mile might need to contact them[/u] if the update fails with an error. The user will not be able to process CC transactions until the 1st Mile piece is also updated to 64-bit."

I have been holding off on the update until I am confident that the issue with 1ST Mile has been resolved. I do not want to take the chance of not being able to process CC transactions.

Do I have a legitimate concern?

Thanks, Mike

From what i understand, the issue is the loader for updates relating to FirstMile. Sometimes the loader does not function correctly and the updated files do not get loaded. That's when a call to FirstMile is needed for them to load manually. If you update during FirstMile support hours the downtime would be minimal and ONLY if the loader malfunctions.

Hi Mike,

Ric's explanation is accurate. With that said, yes - you have a legitimate concern with timing on the update. I'd suggest allowing an extra 20 minutes or so to do the update on off hours, but when you can still reach 1st Mile support.
