Upgrading to Windows 11

Post by sbebenelli »

We have 2 computers running manager. Should we be upgrading to windows 11? Is it going to be an issue if we do? Eventually we will need to upgrade a computer and I assume it'll have Windows 11 on it when we do.

Just curious.

Upgrading to Windows 11 shouldn't be a problem for any of the stations, but there have been issues with upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on the host machine. We have seen many successful upgrades to Windows 11 as well as many failures to upgrade.

OK I'll stick with 10. No need to change what's working.

Well hopefully mine goes good, just got new host to be put in with windows 11.

FWIW, we've been running Windows 11 on the host & (2) clients for a few months now without issue.

I have two computers with Windows 11, three with windows 10. They are all playing nicely together. The host is still a Windows 10 as it doesn't meet the upgrade yet.

One thing to note - when went to upgrade my machine to Windows 11 - it would not complete. I tried everything, it would keep reverting back to Windows 10 and an error code "0x8007001F". After searching & searching through groups to figure out the code I was getting - I found someone had posted that their machine would not upgrade because of an extra Default user that was in the users folder. I checked & I had one as well. I do not know how it got there, but once I deleted it - the upgrade went smoothly.
