Print Filing Labels

Post by alloutrepair »

I would like to print labels with just the customer name and the vehicle (YMM+8vin) for filing purposes...
Does anyone know of a way to do this. It is very time consuming to manually fill in these labels.
THANKS!

There are a couple ways; one is Export to Excel and need some data smarts with Excel to get what you want. To get customer + vehicle with license, try this:

FIRST: Configurations - Reports/Printers
Make sure you have a label option selected WITH vehicle or it will not print with customer info.

1. Go to Reports - Followup tab
2. Select any FL or PC by double-clicking - this opens the Followup tabs
3. Use the History (or other) tab to build the list
4. Click Search to build the list
5. Click on Print then select Print Labels
6. Click on Print to generate print preview
7. In print preview window, click on the Export icon in the upper left corner
8. Select output option - probably 'Microsoft Excel 97-2000 xls data only' for Excel; name it and copy to know location like desktop.

If you really want the VIN also, the Export to Excel documentation is here: http://www.mitchell1.com/knowledgebase/ ... php?id=252

Hey Tim,

Just a quick thought, but we just upgraded to ManagerPlus with ProPack.

Am I reading correctly that maybe I can use the 'key tag' print to print these folder labels?
Otherwise, what materials are used to print the key tags? Is it just printing a label that can be adhered to a key tag?

We will see how this all works out, but I'm staying positive..

Thanks!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

To print key tags you need to use an adhesive style label printer. I hope that helps!

Yes, I know that it would be an adhesive printer, but my question is what materials would you use for the key tags.
We were planning on getting the dymo 450 turbo, but I don't see any dymo products that would function well as a key tag.
THANKS!

It prints a label for a key tag. It has name, vehicle and VIN info on it. They are also useful as parts bin identifiers for pre-ordered customer parts.
