Customer Screen

Post by artadot »

I think it would be beneficial if we could access revisions and have a link to the schedule from the customer screen without having to generate a work order.

You have access to Revisions now. Start a new order, select the customer and go direct to the Revision screen. An actual order hasn't been started at this point and if you close, no order will be.

While this is open, you can access the Scheduler by clicking on the button above. Per workflow, to actually schedule this you should have a valid order.

Hope that helps! :D

Thanks but I do realize you can access revisions and the scheduler from a work order, but I think it would be a benefit to do the same from the customer screen. When a customer calls to book an appointment we like to go to the customer screen and check any recommendations while on the phone with them so we can discuss what work should be done with this service, it would be helpful to be able to check revisions to discuss costs and then immediately schedule them, just a little time saver, but maybe not a big issue for most shops. We could just change our habits and start a work order.

I understand what you are saying.

Consider making Estimates for every appointment. When you do this, you get everything you want right now. Once you know who is calling, hit the New button and start an order. When you start moving through the tabs, the program tells you about any revisions. You can sell those while the customer is on the phone and discuss costs. Then click on options>schedule work and place it on the calendar. The nice thing about this approach is the program time loads the day for you. Another nice thing about this approach is the order is ready when the customer arrives so check-in is quicker too.

I agree with this. We never start with the schedule. When a customer calls, we try to hit the New button & at least look at the recommends & then to the revisions if there have been one built. Then build the Symptoms (Customer Concerns or Customer Requested), schedule the job (using options button) & then print the Tech sheet (so we keep the tech sheet clean & not confusing on what they are doing). We use the Revisions as a working area to write notes & work up estimates. We usually do not sell the revision so that any notes we do not want the customer see is not attached. We copy & paste each line or couple lines to the order & make changes as needed.
But starting with the New button instead of the schedule has definitely worked for us!
