Reports For Fleet Vehicles?

Post by kerrybros »

Is anyone else finding this software hard to use for a fleet application? We are a mid-sized garage, where all we service are fleet vehicles. We need the ability to search vehicle history using a keyword. I have used the part search feature but it only lists vehicle make and company and not unit number. This makes looking through history very hard. For instance, if we need to look at the last time a truck had injectors put in it. We can either print the whole history which takes a long time, or we can click and open each old invoice one at a time. Does anyone have an alternative to the mind numbing reporting software that comes with this program?

You can easily search history for a keyword. Go to the History tab and click on the Search button, then type in the term you are looking for. No need to look through each record.

I would add that the F3 Find Customer screen accepts Unit # queries. While you may not be interested in generating a new order, use F3 to focus on a unit #, click Find and then go immediately to History tab. Then use the Search for "injector" to filter the invoice list to only those that include "injector" in a parts or labor description.

Here's a couple brief videos that you may not have seen:

Thanks, very helpful. The only problem for the F4 function is that it does not have a column for unit #. Is there a way that I can add it in? For instance if I search "injector" There are 52 invoices all for the same customer, but for 52 different trucks.

Using these depend on what we know and what we want to know:

If I know the part item but not the unit #s it was installed on, F4 is going to build a list of qualifying invoices.
If I know the unit # then I'm going to use F3 and proceed to the History tab and use the Search to filter invoices list down to matching entries that contain the labor or part description searched on.

This could be pointing to an enhancement request for a Unit # column on the History tab display, as one solution.

There has been occasional discussion on a more truck-centric version of Manager for trucks but this not on the development radar at this time.
