Discount in Customer Type?

Post by artadot »

I would like to add a default % off of parts for a fleet customer we just acquired. I went into standard tables and created the discount but that applied it to all work orders, is there a way to add a default discount to just one customer without having to go into options every time?

Move the Discount to line 2. Line 1 Discounts will apply to all.

I used the second line and created the discount, then applied it to the customer, the existing repair order changed to reflect the discount but then I created a second repair order for the same customer the discount didn't apply

Please confirm that this customer and vehicle(s) are now assigned to use the #2 option instead of #1 default (no discount).

I think all the vehicles under that customer are using the original rate. Change each existing vehicle to reflect the new rate. Any newly added vehicles will inherit the new rate from the customer.

Found my error, thanks for everyone's help, the only thing now is that the discount reduces the price of the parts, which is good. but there is nothing stating that a discount has been applied to the parts, the customer might argue that.

The pricing tiers selected in the Standard Tables - "Discount" do not outwardly advertise this setting as using a Promotions - Discount does (generating a note line restating the Discount name). One idea so that you don't have to remember to apply such a note each time would be to add DISCOUNTED text to Vehicle memo and leave the 'Print memo on order' box checked.

Thanks Tim, I think one of those options should work just fine
