I'm curious if there ever is a time that you wouldn't want the notes listed on the bottom of the labor listings. Someone had posted a long time ago a cool trick in order to make the notes section stick out to type ===== before typing the notes field.
Personally I use the notes field to explain all the work that we have completed (write the story) on their vehicle & let the customer know of any other items that need attention. It would be nice if it was always on the bottom of the labor field & somehow stood out....I do not have a problem with making sure I click on the last line to make sure that is where the notes are - however the other gremlin that also invoices doesn't always remember to do that & the notes are intermixed with the other labor fields & it makes it hard to read - or to find to point out to the customer when they come pick up their vehicle.

I like to write a clear explanation detailing everything we did. While we could write it in the labor window - many times there is not enough room. And I really like to have a "story" with everything in one location so when the customer comes in - we can go over what was done without having to jump around in every labor description to touch on the repairs we have completed.

Wow. You must type a lot. The Labor Performed window holds 4095 characters. On a standard invoice where parts are on the left and labor on the right, that would fill two pages of description for one labor.
Maybe I'm missing the boat here. I *thought* we were very descriptive in our labors. Could you post an example of one of your invoices where you have this much description? If I can do better, I'm willing.

This Way It Noticed. SomeTimes I Will Also Highlight The Note. Hope This Helps.

We do something like this - however my problem is the other service writer (ie gremlin) doesn't always remember to put that note at the bottom & it's not easy to read to the customer.
Ric - crazy week here this week. Next week I will send you some samples.

I understand the detailed notes. I live two lives. One is the service writter the other a Fire fighter/MFR. I am use to details. We arrived on scene of a two car PI, car 1 had three pt's, driver complained of.......... Write it for the lawyers I always say. So i have a tendency to want the same thing here. Tough some days to give "the reader digest" version.

We were talking here about details and not enough room to write "notes". I am on a "troubled repair" so to speak. I have opened "notes" 12 times AND filled them all!
Its all in the details.....
