Invoice Date Printing On Invoices

How do we setup our printed invoices to print the Invoice Date vs the Date Printed? When submitting invoices for tire or part rebates the Invoice Date is way more important.

I am using inv w/o part number or hours. When the invoice prints I have at middle top work completed and vehicle recieved that reflect when it was written and when it was converted to invoice. Date printed is far right beneath invoice number. I believe that if you write it when it comes in and print it logs the vehicle recvd and when it is converted to inv and printed it logs completion.

This is not a setting. If printing an Invoice from History, you'll get the printed on date as well as the original date. Simply highlight the original date for this purpose, or keep a copy of the original print-out when posting.

I do not get the original date on the invoices, just the date printed

Which Invoice template are you using?

Those dates are printed across the bottom of the invoice. We use the same invoice without hours. Right across the bottom.

thank you I apparently am a blind bat , I had seen the vehicle received date but not work completed.

LOL. Admittedly it's VERY small. I agree with you that the important date should be the biggest. That date should be work completed. This is the date you post the invoice.

Someone else felt that the printed date was most important. Honestly, I'd love to know why. I can't think of a reason I'll ever need to know what date a history invoice was printed. If someone knows, please chime in.

I agree, this is ridicules but worse yet, where is the fix? A customer comes in and needs a copy of their invoice, from 6 months back, and I hand it to them with todays date on it, and no way to fix it without simply writing on the copy. If you email, it there is no way to write the correct date on it, and it looks fishy anyway. If these was used in a legal proceeding you can image the credibility you will loose when the judge sees this, and you have to explain why....
Should be simple to fix this, so please let me know what the eta of this fix is? Mike

What is it you want 'fixed'? Here is a clip of an Invoice from history. It clearly shows the original and printed dates. What would you want changed? Or are you using a different template?
