Show Discount On Line Items, Or List Price & Sale Price?

Is there a way to show the list price and the sale price OR the discounted amount on each line item? I'd like to show the customer the discounted price of each part rather than just a subtotal hiding on the bottom of the estimate/invoice.

There is no way to do that now, but I've heard that the 'by-the-job' layout being considered by M1 may more easily accommodate this. Multiple discounts has long been a desire among users, myself included.
