Vehicle memo

Post by artadot »

We are running into an issue with the vehicle memo. If we start a repair order for a customer who has multiple vehicles and have the wrong vehicle then when we switch to the correct vehicle the memo remains on the work order from the first vehicle. We have been using the vehicle memo to note when a vehicle has had lifetime warranty parts installed, so it makes it appear a vehicle has lifetime warranty on parts that it really doesn't. Also the memo is now only printing a couple of words on the invoice, it doesn't print the whole message

Unfortunately, the only advice I can give you is choose the correct vehicle when starting an order. Because of the architecture, the program looks for vehicle memo only at inception, not when changing the vehicle. It doesn't have the 'authority' to change a line on the order after the fact.

Regarding the printing, can you give us a screenshot of what you mean. We don't print v. memos here. Also, what invoice template?

We are using the Inv w/o hours. I can't give you a screen shot because the memo is on screen but when we print the invoice it only prints the first few words.

Simply print your invoice to screen and screen-shot it from there, or use the Preview button from the File Menu.

I added a lengthy vehicle memo to a vehicle and selected to print.

I checked and it shows on the order.

Then I previewed the Invoice using Inv w/o Hours template and it looks like this...

Is your experience different? It seems to print ok for me.

Sorry I didn't explain accurately. The memo is on the preview screen, it is when we print the invoice that only a couple of words appear on the v memo.

You may need to call support. Mine prints the full text of a vehicle memo just as it appears in the preview.
