Sublet

Post by brianrex »

When sublet is calculated it ends up being added to the labor totals. How can i get it into its own category so it doesn't skew the labor totals? Sublet is usually freight , machine shop costs , fuel etc. and i don't want it in labor. It would be nice if it ended up being listed on the posted orders report.

There are two sublet reports under the Management tab. One is detailed and the other is not. Shows cost and profit. These are date rangeable.

Why does the sublet add to the Labor total and not unto its own? To get the true labor total you have to back the sublet out and recalculate it.

I can only speculate, but I think it originates from when most sublet work was machine shop stuff. That is labor mostly from someone else; valve job, resurface heads, etc. Today it takes on a whole new meaning.

Be warned! I know NOTHING about how GL codes effect ANY export, IE - excel or any other accounting software!!!!

I went into
Set up
Standard tables
Then I used the "ADD" button and added "Towing" and made the GL code something not already used....appears I picked 40100

I also made one for "parts at cost" and used 40300

On the invoice it does show "sublet" but does NOT show if it is towing or any other type of "sublet". Just as my "parts at cost" still show as normal parts on the invoice, however, it does break it out in the report I use at the end of the day. (see screen shot above)

The report i use:
Reports
Accounting
Revenue by GL code.
