Backup Question
We do not use of host computer to try and keep it as clean as possible. That said is there a way to automatically perform a backup from a workstation like the host when you shut down. Or what files do I need to backup off the host pc nightly without using the backup in Mitchell 7? The data file? AB

Re: Backup Question
No. You can only back-up at the Host. That said is there a way to automatically perform a backup from a workstation like the host when you shut down.
I don't know the exact files. Likely found here.... C:\Program Files (x86)\M1-SK\Teamworks\Manager\Data but I can't say for sure. I caution against trying to manually back-up Manager. Something missed could spell disaster.Or what files do I need to backup off the host pc nightly without using the backup in Mitchell 7? The data file?
Using the Host for real Manager back-ups shouldn't pose any risks. Dedicate a thumb drive and reserve it to be inserted to the Host only. You should be fine.

Re: Backup Question
I like the hands off approach. All my pc's back up locally by themselves with software I control. Then upload each night offsite to the cloud. I don't do anything except make sure its all running smooth from time to time. I just updated to 7 this week and want to make sure it is the same as 6 or different?

Re: Backup Question
That's a wise approach. What software are you using and which offsite vendor do you use?

Re: Backup Question
Thanks for that. We are going paperless soon and many items are being scanned to the NAS. I'll need off-site backup for it and I'm just starting to explore the options.

Re: Backup Question
It is as stated above - backup has to be performed from the SE server.cardoc wrote:John or Tim do you have any input here for me?

Re: Backup Question
Cardoc,
We are also offering a real-time off-site backup service for your Manager database as well. It's currently in pre-release testing, but will be another option for you soon. If you're interested in getting it sooner than later, PM me and we'll have someone call you to set it up. It would require access to the host machine for a short time to install the application, but then no other interaction.
