WIP Screen Layout?

Post by JIMBOB661 »

I'm running 6.5 multi-user and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. Can I change the layout of the WIP screen ( delete collumns not needed ) or change the size of the font? I also change the colors on my primary computer, but it won't transfer to my remote unit. Is this even possible or am I missing something? Thanks

The changes you make to your primary computer are "attached" to the user on that computer. If your other computer has a different user, the changes will not be applied there. Try changing the user on the second computer to the same as the primary, and the changes should appear. The WIP columns can be reorganized by dragging the columns to any location you select and dropping it there. The column widths are also adjustable. Those changes are also attached the the user. That way different users can have custom screen setups and by changing the user, you can easily move from one computer to another and take your preferences with you.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting.

Yours is a slight variation to a question we've answered a few times. They key is to exit Manager SE on ALL other workstations before making your changes. You may change the WIP or Order screen grid line colors; all users will share the same colors. You may move and re-size any of the columns; you cannot delete them. Our suggestion is to drag them to the right where they are not visible. You may also drag the width to nearly zero but moving them usually handles this.

We recommend creating Users (profiles) to control screen appearance, types of records displayed and potentially selected service writer (Written By) as shown in this Knowledgebase article with video:

Once you done all of your customizing of these settings, start up the other workstation(s) and the changes will be available and retained.
