Speaking of phone numbers...
Is there a specific format for correctly entering phone numbers so that they can be used for a search? It seems like the space for numbers is already divvied up into separate areas for area code + 3 + 4 but I've never figured out the fast way to hit those "markers." I cannot get a search by phone number to find a customer (always says number not found) so I know it must be necessary to enter the numbers in a very specific way. Numerous searches of this forum and faqs and the knowledge base and help files has not revealed the answer to me.

Re: Phone Numbers
The format of phone numbers is controlled by Phone # Mask in Shop Data - Default Settings; typically this remains ###-###-#### as delivered by the program default.
The NEW / F6 window to lookup customers and the F3 Find Customer function both indicate that the last 4 digits are used to search on: On the Work-In-Progress screen, a right click on a Telephone field reveals a Search box where *any* portion of the phone number may be entered: I will see that we add a Knowledgebase article for this.

Re: Search By Phone Numbers?
This is what I get when I search. If I understand you correctly, I am entering the phone numbers in the not-so-special expected format. As you can see, I searched for a number that is clearly in my database. And it did not find it.

Re: Search By Phone Numbers?
So what exactly am I to do with this setting to enable last four digit phone searches to work correctly?

Re: Search By Phone Numbers?
Not sure if it will fix your issue, my "use phone # mask" is checked to be used. Maybe check the box and try the search again. I have never had an issue with searching for a phone number, and that box has always been marked.

This is not usually an issue.
Use Phone # Mask should NEVER be unchecked. Please get that box checked and confirm that the mask is ###-###-####. Then try it again.

YEEHAW!
Checked the box and pasted ###-###-#### where it's supposed to be and phone number search works! While I was in there I took out the default area code since the DFW metro has so many different ones now. Checked a few customers in the WIP and it appears Manager has fixed their numbers to fit the "new" format.
SWEET!
