Global Tech Assignment?

Post by nhsc »

This another picayune issue, but would it be possible to get a function where Tech Assignment could be done globally on the RO? Many times we copy and paste jobs from history, like oil changes, etc., but then have to reassign the tech who's actually doing the work. It would save time if we could globally reassign a tech with a little edit replace macro. Thanks for listening.

I believe Options -> Order Options - Default Technicians would allow this right now. The selection made here will change all the order lines at once for labor, parts or both if selected. It would also affect any future transferred Revisions as well.

This actually doesn't work for the original poster's concern. See this gif for the issue. We have this happen all the time too.

There are cases where this doesn't work. I've already brought this up with Tim via private message so he's aware.

I noticed this too this morning and just now. Seems like copied lines from history do not update when you use the function that was described in second post.

Hmmm.... I just copied several history labor items to several current orders and it has followed the Order Options selection I'd made each time. Then I changed the Order Options labor tech selection again to a different tech, copied more history labor items and these too went along with my NEWEST labor tech selection.

It appears to be situational according to ricmorin. I can replicate it 100% of the time if you need more examples.
