VEHICLE RECEIVED/VEHICLE COMPLETED DATES

Post by dandsautoandtruck »

What triggers the vehicle received date? In NY, DMV requires both dates on the invoice. We have a lot of jobs that take two to three days, sometimes longer to get completed. When we print the invoice, both fields have the current date.

The marking of the Repair Order as printed cues the Time/Date In field. The program logic is that Estimates are converted into Repair Orders and printed when the vehicle arrives.

OK, we usually print the tech worksheet and not an RO. Will have to remember to do this from now on.

Just to be clear, you don't need to physically print an RO, just mark it as printed. If you don't need the copy, after converting to an RO I will use the preview selection under the File menu. This places it on the screen. I then X out of the preview and the program asks me to 'Mark As Printed'? I answer yes. That takes about 4 seconds.

Another option is to select 'Mark All RO's as printed' in Setup. Go to Setup>Shop Data>Screen View and select the box. That marks them all as they are created.

We print ours and have the customer sign them. It's always good to have a pre-service signature.
