Help with DPR and end of year

Post by nickscarcare »

Just spent to much time on tech line with no avail again. I think I knew more than the guy did. My DPR was not backing up, now I think he deleted it. I no longer have an icon. Also is there a end of year close to do?
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

There is no end of year to do. you just set your fiscal end date.

DPR may still be present, but just off. Try a restart.

Is the end of year close something they went away with? I thought I had to do this with 5.9.

You did; now we simply set Fiscal Year End Close (Utilities Menu) once and that's it.

Ok, I had that set, but guy on tech line didn't even know about it. Now to get the DPR going again. It was just funny when I knew that they had it and the guy on the tech line didn't!

I assume you did a restart? If so you best call support.

Hopefully next guy is better than the last he spent 30 minutes and as far as I am concerned made it worse! I was figuring that would be the only reply on here.

Ok big props to this guy, not sure if we are supposed to say names, so I wont, but he was a big help. I had the DPR back up before, this guy tells me Mitchell has a new backup that is better, runs in the background. Hopefully this is all correct and he is not filling me with smoke and mirrors. But within 5 minutes he checked, that one was running and has shown a back up, no more DPR needed he said.

DPR is the older version of backup provided by M1. The program backs up the database once a night, unlike the newer version that saves nearly every keystroke.

Yes and I was not even aware of the new version until the second guy at tech support said so, he checked and it is working, so we are all good on that part now! :D We always had DPR.
