Drag and Drop Love

Post by Rich »

So we updated this morning to 7.3.7 and I missed the "whats new" information. But i did learn how to use the drag and drop feature. Not sure who thought of this idea, or how many had to work the coding to make it work, or how many tested it, no clue the days involved to make this feature work.

To all of those that had their hands and brains into this feature...

Prior to this release, in order to move a line on an order you needed to cut and paste. Now all you need to do is highlight the line to be moved, then click hold/drag the line to the new location. Makes real easy work of rearranging lines on the order.

That will be a great feature. Are you guys on an early release version or is this starting to get deployed in batches?

Just in case someone misses it — you can also CTRL+Click as many lines as you want and move them in a group. :)

No prompt for email yet. There is one on the Bolt-On side of things.

With the update did it change the screen size font? I didn't seem to notice the change, but my service writer seems to think the font size may have gotten smaller?

No, the font or its size has not changed. The change being seen is the result of migration from from Microsoft MFC / C++ dialogs and controls to Microsoft C# / .NET winforms. Text in winforms uses "TrueType" fonts, where MFC / C++ uses "OpenType" fonts. TrueType fonts developed by Apple display cleaner; the edges of the characters are smoother. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueType for more technical information.

The change is visually subtle, some see it some don't.

It was the first thing I saw. Guess my graphic arts background made it screaming obvious to me.

I can't wait to use the drag/drop feature, among others. Is there a way I can get the update now rather than later? I keep checking for updates, but there are not any at this time.
