Duplicate customer spelled wrong...w/ a twist.

Post by Rich »

I have a customer here that owes us some money, she came in to pay some in her account. I looked and found she owed no money, upon deeper CSI like looking, I see we spelled her last name wrong last time....she is also in the system with the correct spelling...

My thoughts.....wait until she pays off the bill (with the wrong spelling) and then correct as I normally would. But is there a correct way to do it now? Can I just go ahead and combine them, even though one of her  owes us money?

Clean it up now. Combine the invoices and be done.

So just go ahead and treat it as if there is no money owed! Ok will do. Thanks Ric.

Yeah. That way the invoice with the balance due will move to the real customer.

Am i the only one that loves to hear Tims voice when on hold....? I'd love to hear it say...

Thank you for calling, now that your on hold, have you seriously thought of smashing you system into microbits? It sure won't help and Mitchell won't replace your system....but dam it would help release some stress.

And i also noticed that the "correct" customer had no cars.......

Man if it can get more screwed up....

At least the TS guy, Tim Comeau, is awesome. However it was very disappointing when he stayed neutral on my "can i just shoot the system" question. 8)

So after battling a ton of issues with the system.... I now have the car under the wrong name moved to the correct name. The accidental payment deleted.... (what a day it has been). But now the payment still shows up under the incorrectly spelled name. And after the :!: :?: :?: kicking the system gave me today I am not going to try anything else. I can foresee a major issue deleting a customer that owes money. So I am going to just wait until the customer pays off the invoice under the wrong name and then delete that account.

When things settle down TS is going to have to get back in and fix my system lock up when changing customers.... 8)

Happy Thursday.

7 months till CHRISTmas.

You didn't. Not at all.

Since the last update or two our system dies when we try to sell a vehicle to a different person. As in have to shut it 100% down and back up. Then we get the licensing error on the server..........

If the system didn't have issues, this could have been a 4 minute job, but it was 4 hours....
