Inventory Report

Post by Tim Martin »

On a given inventory part, I want to know where all I have used this part. How can I find a report like that? I have poked all around on the report button but did not find what I am looking for. Can someone please help?

Yes, there is a report for that.

Go to Reports>Management>Part Number Search. You can date range it and include a single part or a group of parts that have similar names or numbers. It's easily missed since it's not in the Inventory tab.

Thanks Ric. Yes, it is easily missed because I had not thought to look in the management section. I guess my 25 years with Quickbooks was blindsiding me on this one.

Thanks again. I use that report to determine what to stock and how much to stock.

There is another way to do that as well. Allow me to share....

Open the inventory item in question and click on Sales button at the bottom. You'll get an instant pop-up bar graph of sales over the last 12 months. Makes it real easy to see if you need to change your stock numbers.

The reason it sits under the Management tab is that we used to offer a basic version of Manager w/o an Inventory reports tab. We wanted all users to benefit from that report, thus we placed it where it is.

The issue I have with the graph that Ric showed is that I cannot see which vehicles that part went on and that is the information I am wanting to know. Unless there is a way to get that information from the graph.

No way to know the vehicles from the graph. The report is the better option if you need that info.
