Pricing Lock

Post by mopar-mechanic »

It would be nice to lock out pricing changes for parts by users, we have our matrix dialed in very well and occasionally a part price can be changed but more then once I have had an employee change the pricing for a "friend" without permission, their demise unfortunately, without the temptation there can be no opportunity for this potentially costly mistake.

I am sure there is a way to keep control of what can and cannot be changed. I believe it is under configurations and program security.

I looked through the protected areas list and did not see a way to password protect changing a price on a part.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting.

To be clear, you can password protect Add, Edit, Delete functions for line items within Inventory List, Canned Jobs, Part Kits and Promotion packages. Because there can be any number of legitimate reasons to make changes on the Order or Revisions, there is latitude to do so. If prices are changed, this is also reflected within the List Price Deviation report.

Some portion of this issue is shop policies and hiring practices.
