Parts Ordered/Received

Post by MattFMN »

I would like to see a function to just "right-click" on a part line and select whether the part has been ordered or received.

I'm sure there's a way using POs, but if you don't order electronically it looks to be quite involved.

Thoughts?

with 6.5 the parts that have been electronically ordered have highlighted lines, once received the line color changes. But if you call them in none of that works. It has been brought up in the past, I am sure it is on the "wish list" however other things need to take higher priority.

This is already present in 6.5 with the use of PO creation and subsequent receiving. It's not involved at all when using an non-electronic vendor. Simply place all your parts on the RO, then click Options, then pick list. Select the parts you are ordering and create a PO. When the parts arrive, receive them and your done.

A right click is nice, but you have a visual indicator on the WIP with NO click right now. Besides, the program needs to know when you ordered the part. YOU have to tell it somehow. What other way do you propose other than Purchase Orders? On top of keeping track of what's ordered and what's received, PO's give you a nice trackable system for use later on.
