Order Sent To Incorrect Vendor Regardless Of Catalog

Post by GUTHTIRE »

Just encountered a problem with parts ordering, not sure if it's been submitted here in the past. If you look up a part from a catalog then do a price check then select Order Parts the parts are ordered from the last vendor that you ordered from regardless of which catalog the part was selected from. There's no indication that you've made an error. The PO just says "Parts have been ordered electronically". The part in the picture was selected from NAPA yet when placing the order it defaulted to Eastern.

If I understand you correctly, the program has always functioned this way. There is no connection between those two features. When ordering parts from an RO, you've always needed to select the vendor manually. It's possible to order from the wrong vendor if that vendor has the same part number and line code, otherwise you'd get an error. There has been some discussion about downloading the vendor data with a parts catalog import. That might help the situation in the future, especially on larger more complicated orders

Even though it may have always worked that way I would think there would be a way to capture which catalog the part was copied from therefore eliminating the possibility of an ordering error.
