Open Purchase Orders
We have not been utilizing the inventory capabilities or maintaining the open purchase orders due to various reasons. I now have hundreds of open purchase orders, is there a way to do a mass delete on them and start fresh? or do I have to go thru them one by one?

Depending on the version you are running, tech support may have a tool for this.
In future, it would be good to receive PO parts as this is legitimate business data.

Tim,
Can you tell us exactly what happens when you receive the purchase orders & close them? We have not been using this aspect of the program & I am just wondering what parts of the data it affects.
Thanks!

Contact support they can walk you through it or log in and set it for you to do a one time entry of all open P.O.'s. Went through the same thing at our shop. Got away from doing P.O. entry daily and then when I decided I wanted to clean them up there was over a thousand of them. I just happened to call support and ask if there was an easier way. They said not for us to do generally but on the back end of the software there is and they walked me right through it and within 5 minutes all was cleaned up.

Vendor parts purchase history data; what is there to use search on POs and data expressed on certain reports.

The pop up that comes up when you are receiving parts, asks if you want to receive to appropriate RO when possible and also create an inventory record - is there any way to default these answers - or do you have to deal with each PO as it comes?

If I recall correctly, that's a sticky setting.

Indeed sticky selections; once clicked they stay unless unclicked. It follows your lead.

Re: Open Purchase Orders
So on the subject of mass deletion. We just upgraded to 6.5.54. I wanted to see this new lightening speed we now have to look for a close PO. I see we have PO's back to 2007. Is there a side effect to dumping all of them. I use it to find parts we have purchased in the past. (warrenty issues) I assume that if i dump all the PO's I lose that ability.

You could still do that with the Management - Part # Search report.Rich wrote:Is there a side effect to dumping all of them? I use it to find parts we have purchased in the past. (warrenty issues) I assume that if i dump all the PO's I lose that ability.
