Part Description Not Updated In Revisions?

Post by hendersonauto »

I updated the description of several of the oils we use for oil changes to better describe them. We have been using the #9 revision for oil changes for years. Now even though these are inventory stocking parts the old description is still in the #9 revision. Have to delete and re enter the oil on each one. Can inventory parts be updated and show the update in the revisions?

Not 100% sure but I don't think they will all just change for you. I think it is a "from this point forward" and does not go retro. Hopefully I am wrong. Some one with brains that are functioning will be along soon.

The price can be updated and changes in the revision. Seems like the description field should be able to update as well.

I would expect everything you can update on a part record would reflect on parts residing on a revision.

This is causing us some trouble as well. I often change part descriptions, especially filters, to something more reasonable than what the supplier has. We also record filters in REV 9 for easy look up on those customers we service regularly. The changes do not appear. :(
