Maybe you folks can help me answer this question submitted to me by a rep:
"Some confusion about when to inventory a part and when not to. Receiving a carton of brake cleaner for example and then tracking it. The expense side is through hazmat and shop supplies charges, but how to record the brake cleaner when it comes in?"
Do you "stock" something like this as an inventory part with stock level and reorder point? Thanks

Re: Inventory Brake Cleaner?
Negative. This counts towards shop supplies.
Periodically I compare shop supply revenue from Manager to shop supply expense in QB using the same date range to check on my fee percentage and adjust accordingly.
