Closing multiple PO

Post by Qbasic8 »

My boss has a habit of not closing 'any' PO after parts are ordered. I would say their is roughly 1,000 + open PO's. Is their a way I can close
all of these with only a few clicks instead of going through each one of them? (That would take forever and a day to do..)

You can get this done with the help of support.

Just got off of the phone with tech support and they said the only way to handle it is to do it one by one. Strange figuring m1files.com shows a SQL script to do such a task (viewing the sql command in notepad confirms the script is meant to do such a thing). Any suggestions?

I would retry calling support. I think you got someone unfamilair with this process. I know it is possible for support to do this.

Call back and ask for second level support, unless something changed they used to be able to do this.

Well, got off the phone with the same guy saying their was no other way, but I kept telling him I was looking at "their script" that does it and he finally started asking others some questions and realized they could in fact do this. So script was executed and problem is solved.

In the future if anybody else needs the info their script is located at : http://www.m1faqs.com/fix/SE/index.htm
Line 14: SE Database Queries for use by Technical Support Updated 12/13

That contains the script 'ClosePOMaster.sql' which will need to be ran on the host machine. You can enter a start and end date and close all PO's within that range.

Lets just state that the user should consult support before applying any of these and that at least one backup should be done before beginning. :D If you do something wrong without support, you may be on your own.
