New Tire Matrix

Post by nessauto »

There's a new tire matrix in the setup. Can anyone tell me how it knows it's a tire. Is it the "Category" marked tire? or is it in the inventory when you click the "Checkbox" for tire? It appears you assign a category. Also is there a way to mark it up by a specific $ amount not %.

It used when the part record is marked as a tire. No provision to mark up by specific dollar amount.

That's certainly an opinion. I find the matrix very useful. I USED to mark up my tires by a straight dollar amount, until the matrix arrived. Now that I use the matrix I find that I make more money on tires. That's a good thing.

I've tried playing around with it. One issue we have is we include everything in the price. So when we give a customer a price on a tire it's mounted, balanced, new stems, sealed beads, disposal of the tire. So this makes it a little difficult. I'll have to work on it more.

Now that there is a matrix, you might find that 'building' a quote like other jobs in Manager is a little easier. I think I left some money on the table with my old pricing method.

Customizing Promo - Tire Package levels of service handles all of that stuff. This example has the disposal fee built into the tier package itself but you should probably define the Tire Fees right from the Tire Matrix screen.

Rumor has it we may get a change to the matrix that lets us enter dollar amounts not %. All the quoting softares I've looked at offer dollars and GP%. Any chance this is coming soon. We quote to customers that way as a tiered dollar amount but have to manually enter everything into Mitchel.
