O'Reilly Catalog opens, but no parts listing

Post by rhillig »

I have a strange issue. The O'Reilly cataloging works on all the computers except one work station. It opens up the screen, but then does not have columns in the center for choosing the part. The header & the side bar are there, but the center of the screen is blank. All of the other work stations it opens like it should.

I have tried to re-install the cataloging on that system. Everything else seems to be the same.

Anyone else notice a problem like this?

Hi Becky,

Do you know which version of the catalog you're using?

This is most likely a caching issue. We're working with O'Reilly to fine tune caching for these type of conflicts. If you're inclined, you can likely fix this yourself:

1. Close Manager
2. Navigate to c:\ProgramData\M1-SK\Browser and delete the folder named Cache

ProgramData is a hidden directory by default, so it's sometimes easiest to get there by going to Run > '%programdata%' - no quotes

Of course you can always contact support for assistance as well.

Do you have any idea when that station might have last used the FCO catalog?

That worked like a charm!!

We use that computer/station every day. It has probably been three or four days since it started acting up, just hadn't had time to trouble shoot it.

Thank you!!

You're certainly welcome.

Hopefully we'll be able to square this away without an application change, but if a change is required, perhaps you can help us with the testing?

We can certainly help. We use it multiple times an hour - so we can do lots of testing ;)

I called in for this issue and they had me go back to the old catalog and that worked, didn't mention anything about cleaning the cache, maybe its a newer fix? Cant remember the day I called in. Then the O'Reillys Sales rep came in and we updated back to the new catalog and told me to clean the cache in that folder and it worked just fine!

Sauvageaus,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I'll will make sure our agents are aware of this solution and we are working with O'Reilly to prevent this from happening in the first place.
