Post by BenjaminPeterson »

Anyone else noticing more ads in Repairlink catalog. Use to be just a header now it is header footer and sides. Anyone know away to block it from loading ads?

We've reported the increased ads to Repair Link to see if this can be addressed.

Too funny. Noticed the same thing this morning. Seeing ads for competitive repair shops. :!: :?: :?:

Edit: seems to have slowed it down as well.

I noticed this also. I get very annoyed by ads. I do not want them neither do I need them. Please address this issue. Seems that the program has slowed down significantly.

All,

I just wanted to take a moment to explain: Mitchell 1 is not in charge of any content once you punch out to any given catalog. This isn't an issue for us to fix. Your best bet is to provide feedback directly to OEC/Repairlink.

I think Repairlink has always been slower than the other catalogs even before they started with the ads. The ads has always seemed odd to me. I guess because the other catalogs has never had them. If ads are needed for Repairlink to continue I'd rather have that than no more Repairlink. Ideally I'd rather not see them though.

So what you are saying is every catalog going to do this, because if you allow this to happen why wouldn't they.

We are not saying that all vendors are going to do this. The decision to show you ads is a decision of each vendor. As you see most vendors will not display ads (with the exclusion of the launch page at times).

We've reported the issue to RepairLink and have not heard back about the issue. The only other thing that may help with their site showing ads would be sending feedback them as we don't control what they are displaying on their site.

Not sure these are the kind of ads I want on my screen that customers can see.

I have similar ads, yea, I recognize them. I am extremely annoyed and irritated. I am not a computer junkie. I go online, do my thing and leave. I HATE the ads. But, this kind of stuff will likely only worsen as time goes on. If it gets to a point where I can't handle the ads and they cannot be removed, guess what? I'll end the relationship with where ever the ads are coming from, be it Mitchell1 or RepairLink.
