Edit P.O. Shipping Charges?

Post by MACH1SCJ »

Good morning, I am sure I am missing it, but we just can't seem to find where to enter a freight charge on a po that we are manually entering.
Thanks for any assistance provided.

Not sure if there is a spot but what we do is add it as a sublet and have a category for shipping so we can track it if wanted.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

This is the screen I am at. In the lower right corner there is a shipping listed, How to edit that?

This is for shipping costs associated with electronic orders. There is no way to leverage that field manually. Others may chime in on their workarounds.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting!

As stated by Ric, that is provided for electronic vendor catalogs to make use of in the future. None of those vendors has engaged it as yet.

If you need freight on RO/INV that would be a line item (Sublet was a suggestion) where the Account Class Revenue would go to Freight (not Sublet. You may need to add this in Setup > Standard Tables > Income Accounts if it doesn't already exist.

Thanks for the welcome. This was for a stock order, So it is not associated with an iNV/RO at this time- I'll just add it into the cost of the parts. That will keep the invoice total accurate.

Always fun with new owners & new software.

Thanks for the help.

Is your system set to Average cost or Last Cost? (setting under Price Markup matrix tab)
You probably don't want to change the parts cost on items received as that will skew the data a bit.
If you plan to bill this on an invoice later, add it as a separate item.

System set to Average cost.

I'll just apply the freight charges to the cost of the parts as it is part of the parts cost.

You can do that but the profit % reported will be skewed if you add freight to the actual cost. If that's no concern, proceed.
