Can a part be removed fron inventory without being on an invoice?

Post by dtsservice »

I have a question for the TeamWorks SE users out there. We are having issues keeping up with our oil inventory because of the way we bill out Service/Lubes.
We take the price of the oil used, add our labour and bill that total out as a labour line. We do it this way because of the wide variety of vehicles/machinery we work on. Helps keep everything tidy and streamlined on the printed invoice.
I am wondering if there is a way to have the oil removed from inventory without seeing it billed on the invoice? We can physically go into the inventory and remove that amount, but if there is a different way of doing this we are open to it.

Thanks

Have you looked into Packages? These allow for a single price externally but you can add parts inside the package. They show as one line item on the order and inventory will deduct.

No I haven't. Is this the same as a part kit?

You got my curiosity. At the risk of being overly negative and/or critical, what is the reason you do not want to show the oil used on an invoice?

We print it in the labour line, it would look as such:

15W - 40 x 32L

PERFORMED SERVICE LUBE
CHECKED ALL FLUIDS
LUBED ALL HINGES/LATCHES
GREASED

If that makes sense. So on an Invoice with multiple repairs, the customer knows exactly what they are paying for the service/lube alone.

I don't think you'll have to worry about this too much longer. We're working towards a solution that will allow you to use the program correctly and meet that customer need.

What exactly does this entail?

Line items will be grouped into jobs, and jobs will be clearly presented with their own subtotal. So when a customer of your shop has additional work, they'll still clearly see the charges for the LOF.
