Printing Wiring Diagrams

Post by slowtech »

I'm having problems with printed wiring diagrams. the wire color and descriptions are hard to read. I use windows 7 and IE 9 on 2 units and xp with IE9 on a 3rd. The problem is on the 2 newer versions. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the solution?

Have you talked to tech support?

Please specify if this is OD5.com or ProDemand.com. Your XP is 32 bit and your Windows 7 boxes are very likely 64 bit and this may be the issue.

Okay. I'm reasonably sure that Windows 7 shipped with IE 8.0 as that was the newest MS browser at the time. Your newer PCs had IE 9.0 added to them prior to sale.

So the easiest thing to do would be Control Panel, Programs, Add/Remove and remove the 9.0 which will roll you back to 8.0 for OD5.com.

I just had to do this, found guide online to do it, it was rather simple. At first when I was going through the control panel, I could not find IE9 to uninstall it. What I wound up doing is: click the windows icon in the lower left corner of the screen, in the box that you can type in I typed "view installed updates", at the top of the list that self-populated was a choice for viewing installed updates in the control panel, when I clicked it, I was able to select IE9 and do an uninstall and the machine went back to IE8 ( which never showed to be on it, but it was hidding somewhere and found its own way into being after IE9 went away). This is on a new laptop purchased last week and if I can do it and not render it to be a paper weight, anyone can.
Working hard to prove the Green Team can do it with the best of 'em.

This is because Windows 7.0 was bulit with IE 8.0. Later PC versions sold had the IE 9.0 put over the top of it so you just reverted back to what WIN 7 started with.

OK. I was able to uninstall IE9 as was suggested. It worked and now I have IE8. Only the wiring diagrams do not show on screen. It just stays blank. Did I need to activate something?
