Manager SE - Credit Card Processing Announcement

Post by timbre4 »

Attention Manager SE users:

Mitchell 1 has recently completed development for integrated credit card processing. This is the latest enhancement to Manager SE v6.4. The product is in need of 5 repair shops that are looking to help us pilot this new software. The first 5 shops to contact us will be considered for this pilot. If you are interested in participating you can contact Product Manager - Chris Arden @ chris.arden@mitchell1.com or by phone at 888-724-6742 x6302.

A brief overview of this software is outlined below:

This new software provides you with the ability to process credit and debit card payments directly from your Mitchell 1 Shop Management software. The new X-Charge® software provides a secure and efficient solution for all of your payment and electronic processing needs.

Our new credit card processing solution is extremely easy-to-use, eliminates errors and saves valuable time by removing the need to access both the shop management system and the credit card payment software at the same time.

The benefits of Mitchell 1’s new integrated credit card processing:
  • Complete integration with Manager SE (version 6.4)
Rapid authorization times (two to three seconds on high-speed Internet)
Supports all major credit and debit cards
Robust reporting accessed through Manager SE
    PCI-compliant
Eliminates errors – no re-keying of sales information on a separate terminal
    Easy-to-learn and simple-to-use
Unlimited tech support for the credit card processing software

Are there compliance fees? What are the processing rates? Are there statement fees?

We got a preview at the Vegas Class. It looks like a wonderful thing. I can only imagine what I would do with my extra hours. Those hours I don't have to search through the receipts to find out SOMEONE charged $9.00 to a customers credit card, Which should have been $900.00.

Ouch, thats worse then the latest one here which was the boss forgeting the last digit on a bill of $252.45, was ran as $25.24. Luckily the customer was a good one and came back and let me re-run his card for the differance. I gave him a free oil change for his troubles.

Hi Brian,

All the fees and rates are determined on an individual client basis due to the nature of credit processing. We can provide an individual assessment of your current pricing to determine if we can meet or beat your monthly fees. Just let me know if you’re interested and I can put you in touch with one of our credit processing specialists to get your free analysis. I can be reached via the contact information below:

Steven,

I will ask our vendor X-Charge if they provide that type of promotion. Thanks.

Thanks for the supportive comments. That is correct, the software eliminates the need to manually key in the invoice amount eliminating these type of issues. The software pulls the invoice amount directly from Manager.

Is "virtual terminal" an option? We have 2 other departments that have acess on-line to enter CC info and process from their computers through the internet.

This system utilizes the internet for cc processing, eliminating the need for a dedicated phone line.

My question was if you can manually enter info from other computers. We do a lot of phone sales.

William, are you asking if the system will allow the parts department and the shipping department and the service department to run the CC's? I don't think they understood the question.

William, to answer your question Yes you can manually enter the Credit Card informaiton when needed. Using the system to make batch payments for fleet accounts is a good example of how this could work.

Hello Forum Users;

I thought some might be curious as to how the credit card processing is working out. We are one of the beta shops.

So far the customer service from X-Charge has been good and the installation support was excellent. We installed card readers and pin pads on two front counter workstations, and also installed the X-Charge software on two back room computers to allow for reporting usage and keyed credit card transactions.

The system does work as intended and it will help to avoid inaccuracies. We have a T1 broadband connection and the card transactions take about 2 seconds to clear. The integrated reporting is going to very useful.

We were very satisfied with our previous card processor. However X-Charge did evaluate our statement and is matching rates. If the end cost is as projected, I'll be very satisfied.

OK Mitchell, the next step is state sales tax e-file integration...can we talk about that? :D

One more update, having completed a month and about $23,000 of credit and debit transactions. (for anyone else who is considering jumping in)

No problems, continues to work as intended. Also, we received our first statement from X-Charge and the rates were as agreed upon, basically they matched or went slightly better than our previous rates. I won't disclose specifics on the rates as I expect it to vary for other shops depending on your market and volume. But the cost of accepting credit cards is very competitive.

I really can't think of any negatives at this time with the integrated processing. One thing though to watch out for, if you have committed to a contract with your current credit card processor you may need to pay an early termination fee to them. I didn't think we were under contract, but it turns out we were. So we get hit with that if they choose not to be lenient with us.

This is a very good feature...keep the features coming Mitchell...

We were also one of the Beta test shops. I haven't much to add to Gerald's review. We too have had an excellent experience thus far and don't expect to be changing back to our original credit card processing method. The rates so far have been slightly better than what we had and although we were under a previous contract, it was with the local bank we do business with, so they waved the early termination fee. Installation and support was exceptional. We have 4 terminals on the front counter set up with credit card swipers, two of which have the optional PIN pad entry devices. Everything works as advertised, and like Gerald stated, it extremely fast! It all but totally eliminates errors (great for the Gremlins), prints receipts on your existing printer (eliminating the need for those expensive print cartridges and terminal paper), and it looks professional. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions about it.
