Ok could someone check into this. I have a 2001 Merc Sable 3.0 dohc (prod date 10/2000, vin year 1, engine vin s).

Reference material all refers to COP ignition, this particular model has coil pack and plug wires. Had to go all the way back to 1999 model to find reference to coil and wires. Thanks, Jeff

just a thought. was this made for sale in the united states? i've had a few that were driven in from mexico and were a bit different. i had a suburban that was made in the late 80's that had points in it and no emission piping. good thing i still had my dwell meter. dusty and needed new batteries but it worked.

Has US emissions label under the hood.

What information are you trying to find? I can see 2 different wiring diagrams in OD5. So that tells me there is some information in there. Also, under theory and operation, OD5 shows both coil packs and COP systems with diagrams for both. Are you using discs? Is it not there on your system?

Sorry I wasnt clear. I was looking for plug wire routing and position on the coil pack. I couldnt find it under the vehicle listed. Went back years till I found it as stated in the first post. I will double check the data and get back to ya. Thanks.
Double checked 2001 sable 3.0 dohc. No refrece for coil pac or plug wire routeing. dohc strictly shows cop.

Gotcha. I have a picture of the coil pack with the associated cylinders if it helps. Should be a cince when paired up with a firing order diagram.

Thanks Ric. I was able to get by with the 1999. Was a diag job for another shop. Had the sink thrown at it. Wanted to double check their work. Turned out it had a burned exh valve setting cyl 5 misfire code.
