2007 GMC Sierra Denali - No Listing?

Post by nickscarcare »

I have a 2007 sierra denali, and the manager program has no listing for it. It has a 6.2 engine. VIN is 2GTEK638671710698. I was trying to do a simple oil change. Dealer got the info I needed. Heads up to whom it may concern at Mitchell.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Two things about this one:

In Manager 5.9 the drop list includes this:

In Manager 6.4 SE that VIN decodes as follows:

Denali is a Yukon body style....

This is a sierra pickup, not a utility vehicle. Is the mitchel classifying this as a utility in 5.9??? Sorry yes I have 5.9, wish I had the vin decoder, that sound neat.

Denali is definitely an SUV model; if somebody stuck Denali badges on a pickup truck they should be directed to mental health professionals.

Either way my program does not list a 6.2 for this vehicle. Under the 07 gmc pickup 4 door the options are 4.8, 5.3, and 6.0

Actually it does; please note that a Sierra 1500 and a Sierra Classic 1500 are two DIFFERENT vehicles. I love explaining GM's goofiness in certain years. 2007 was a transition and you have to be extra careful:

Nope just checked again and still no 6.2. I know the classic is the body change. This is a regular sierra, if I knew how to do the screen shot and paste it like you do I would show you!!

Give me the FULL Manager version # you show in the lower RH corner to see if we're on the same page YMM-wise.

It would be 5.9.5.103 or similar.

Okay now we're onto it. The 2007 Sierra 1500 engine options were fine in 5.9.5.103 but changed in later 107 and 109 versions.

Thanks this has now been submitted for review.

now the 6.2 is there for the pick up, you have to scroll down the engine size to the bottom, it is in between a bunch of 5.3's

i am running same version as you.

Nope Tina, just checked again and still no 6.2. Unless my update is out of date which I have all of them loaded that I have gotten. :? Someone also told me they did have a Denali package for the trucks, that part I am unsure of, and don't really matter I guess.

GMC does sell a Denali package for the pickup. They have for quite some time. Most of it is bolt on stuff, but 07 is when they added the 6.2.

So the truck was right then when it said Denali on the side. Well at least we got that part narrowed down. To many options these days, go back to a simple "63 vette, a '46 dodge, a '67 mustang. 8)

Yeah, no kidding. Had a nice 71 Vette in here this morning. What a joy to work on. Only 39k miles and never seen rain.

The early 2000-ish Denali pickups were the ones with quad-steer. Oh what fun. I never saw a lot of them around here. Usually you buy a pickup to work, not to dress up all fancy-like. ( )

This truck is back!! Sorry Tina you were not bothering me. It is just frustrating when Mitchell should have this info in there and they do not. I currently have 5.9.5.112 and it still does not list this truck. Having to find parts for this is not easy, everyone says Denali is only the Yukon, its not. Need to put this in the update!

another example of why i have more than one system. not management, i use mitchell. on repair i have multiple and use them all daily. i never have nor will expect one system to cove all to suit me. an example is i'll use mitchell o.e.m to look up a part that i can't find in my part store listing. copy the part number and paste it in look up or search by number. 75% of the time it will work and give me a price and availability. i'll use a search by vin program in world pac and print out the vehicle information, load it into the vehicle selection on my work order and make a memo about the issue. i'll open a sub estimate for that particular vehicle and try to note as much information as possible. long ago i accepted all the minor faults in mitchell (far less than other systems i've either had or seen) and worked around them. with multiple options i've always made out. from time to time when i'm fishing some of my favorite spots dry up. i move to another not so favorite and return to my favorite later. i don't stand on the shore complaining about being skunked. all it does is increase my anxiety. the fish could give a **** less.
