2001 Freightliner FL60 - ABS Issue

Post by ricmorin »

Hello all.

We have a 2001 Freightliner FL60 here with an ABS problem. Does anyone know what type of ABS system is in this vehicle and how to obtain codes? This is a bit outside my area of expertise. I did a bit of research at the Freightliner site but nothing found there.

Well, I have a sensor hanging in the rear. Truck needs loads of work for inspection. Customer wants to know if there is anything else wrong other than the obvious hanging sensor. I have no idea on how to pull codes on this to see. May have to try a sensor and see what happens. It's definitely broken, but is there anything else......

Well he's back for a reason. I'm thinking it's because you're fair and will treat him well and probably he's taken it up the breezeway from other shops. I get the sense that you're a well respected shop and some people come and go because they think the grass is greener elsewhere. I'm sure you have customer leave for other shops with the idea of less expensive repairs with the same quality craftsman ship. They usually return bruised and financially battered.

In situations like this, a returning customer, i find myself trying to really impress them so they will return as a regular. When i do this i am more likely to shoot myself in the foot. There is an obvious failure with the sensor hanging. At least you have something you can sink your teeth into. If it's replaced and everything works great, if not then it's not like you're throwing parts at it hoping.
